Amir Khan believes that his fight with Floyd Mayweather will be confirmed in “the next couple of weeks”, and price per head services can’t wait to see if this bout will be confirmed.
Pay per head services saw that rumours of a clash between the 27-year-old fighter from Bolton and Mayweather were recently circulating, but an official announcement was not made.
But the former WBA and IBF light-welterweight champion, his fans, and price per head services following the boxer believe that a deal, which would likely see him take on the undefeated American in May in Las Vegas, will be agreed.
Khan said: “It’s the fight I’ve always been after and we’re very close now, not too far away. Hopefully something is going to be announced within the next couple of weeks.”
Khan will be 13 months without a fight by the time that a bout with Mayweather takes place, as he pulled out of a deal to face former IBF welterweight champion Devon Alexander so he could go after his dream clash.
The Bolton fighter who’s very famous with price per head services believes that the time out helped him become better in the ring as he worked with trainer Virgil Hunter on fixing mistakes which were too evident in his scare last time out against Julio Diaz.
“The break has been so good for me because over the last few years I’ve been training or fighting all the time and this time I’ve focused on building my relationship with Virgil,” he said.
“Next time I go into camp I’m going to know exactly what I’m doing with him. I’ve already been working on correcting the mistakes I’ve made in the past, so you’re only going to see an improvement.”
Khan would be the big underdog against Mayweather, who in September was able to stretch his record in September to 45-0 when he outpointed Mexican Saul Alvarez, in a fight that was seen by pay per head services all over the world.
But Khan said that he will be heartened from recent upsets in boxing, including Alexander’s loss to Shawn Porter, and Adrien Broner’s loss last weekend to Marcos Maidana, Khan’s former rival.
Khan added: “Boxing’s all over the place at the moment with all the underdogs coming through to win. Porter was the underdog against Alexander then Broner was beaten and knocked down by Maidana.
